Prohibition/Literacy:  During Prohibition, Moon Lake was home to one of the South’s most famous Prohibition landmarks, the Moon Lake Club.  Unlike speakeasies associated with thugs and criminal activities, this club was a family destination.

Country Music:  Beginning in the early 1960's, Conway Twitty's parents, Floyd and Velma Jenkins, operated "Conway's," a popular supper club on Moon Lake. Though this club no longer exists, many locals recall many eventful evenings spent eating the famous "Conway Burger" and dancing the night away.
